Full description

Milestone marked as, Torrington…M.S. A benchmark is also indicated.
Jenkinson, T., 2007-2011, Okehampton to Great Torrington A386/UC (Report - Survey). SDV347988.
Site visit 12th April 2007. Milestone about 100m south of Bury Cross, in ditch on west side of road. Dates to the c.1820s. Inscribed, 'To/Torrington/7/Miles'. A tall stone, about 112cm high. In good condition, it was dug out of the bank early in 2007. Light coloured granite with a black painted legend.
