1840, Tithe Map (Cartographic). SDV339770.

Depicted on Tithe Map. Little Palston. 2713 Linhay, Field. Owned by John Butter, occupied by James ?Cote Senior.

Palstone Barn depicted on the First Edition map. Small extension on the north-eastern corner.


Royal Air Force, 1946 - 1949, Royal Air Force Aerial Photographs (Aerial Photograph). SDV342938.

Barn appears the same from this aerial as the depictions on the historic maps.

(Visited in 1978-80?) Site of barn, Palston. Remains now removed. Cob used in construction.


Richards, A. F., 2013, Little Palston barn, South Brent (Personal Comment). SDV351438.

Rosmary Robinson's comment for the checklist entry (which was undated) suggests the remains of the barn have been removed. However, the historic maps and the aerial photographs appear to contradict this, showing a barn at the site throughout history. Possibly, this barn may be a replacement on the same footprint of the original.
