Granite milestone on the north side of the 1834 Plymouth-Exeter turnpike road, 300 yards east of the entrance to Palston Farm. It is set well back in the hedge and is triangular with the apex of the triangle towards the road. The west facing side bears the words '7/Miles/to/Totnes' and the east facing side '16/Miles/to/Plymouth'. Height 54cm, length side 35cm.

Jenkinson, T., 2003 - 2008, A385 South Brent to Paignton (Report - Survey). SDV324084.

Granite milestone dating from the circa 1820s. Worn and overgrown in summer. Retains some paint cover. Inscrption reads '7 Miles to Totnes 16 Miles to Ply'. The milestones along the A385, South Brent to Paignton, were placed by the Totnes Turnpike Trust at varying times during the 18th and 19th centuries. The markers running from South Brent to Totnes are unusually small, triangular stones, which are difficult to espy. From Totnes the style of the stones changes to a more sturdy marker showing distances to Torbay's three towns. Several of the milestones are now missing.

Ordnance Survey, 2013, MasterMap (Cartographic). SDV350786.

Milestone is depicted on the modern map.
