Zempson Bridge spans the Harbourne on what may be an earlier route west than the 1755 Turnpike road through Harbourneford. It has never been a County bridge.
This is a neat bridge of surprisingly small span. It is built of random slate rubble with a parapet, and simple rounded arch. It has dressed granite coping stones to the parapet (with no iron reinforcement) and a dressed granite arch with carefully shaped projecting keystone on both north and south sides. There is no datestone. Roadway 3.3 metres wide, span of bridge approximately 2 metres, parapet height 60 centimetres, width 40 centimetres. The parapet is cracked from a blow to its south-west corner.

Agricultural Development Advisory Service, 1995, Zempson Bridge, 1/3/1995 (Report - Survey). SDV174949.
