Summary
Semi-circular banked enclosure on west side of track by river, with a maximum external diameter of approximately 10m. The bank is approximately 2m wide, maximum 1.5m high on the downslope side (nearest River Dart); elsewhere it is about 0.5m high. This is probably the remains of a charcoal burner's hearth.

Full description
Greeves, T. A. P., 1981, Charcoal burner's hearth, Holne (Worksheet). SDV164293.
(11/03/1981) SX72227206 (approximate). Semi-circular banked enclosure on west side of track by river. Immediately south of a very minor stream which flows out of a gully on the east side of the track, passes under the track and flows into the River Dart.
Enclosure has maximum external diameter of approximately 10m. The bank is approximately 2m wide, maximum 1.5m high on the downslope side (nearest River Dart); elsewhere it is about 0.5m high. This is probably the remains of a charcoal burner's hearth.
