Full description
Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, Untitled Source (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV24.
Vis=3/11/1953 (os). Battle between troops under cromwell and royalists under lord wentworth, in which the latter were defeated. Small cannon balls are occasionally dug up in the neighbourhood.1646.

Vis=22/6/1979 (mitchell, m. ). Bovey heathfield. Civil war battle 1646. Bank (sx87nw/11) thought to be associated with this battle. Wooden cross dated 1645 stands on ridge at nw corner of heath. An account of the battle is given in hole (hole).
