Full description

Greeves, T. A. P., 1979, Well (Worksheet). SDV339547.

Very fine stone lined well uncovered during drainage operations at Parke. On north side of 'arch' leading off north side of main yard at back of main house. Well capped with granite 'rails' of Haytor granite tramway. Well about 20 feet deep, then about another ten feet of water (measurements from memory). Approx two metres in diameter. The well was sited just to the west of the access route into the yard from the north. Some photographs taken by Tom Gant, and John Head. Granite rails replaced, capping well.
