Full description
Department of Environment, 1973, Great Torrington, 10 (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV2214.
Probably 17th century and 18th century, right and left respectively, altered. Occupies two fronts. Right is three-storey plaster front with gable. Second floor sash window, first floor later splay bay. Long shop front to ground floor, modern. On left is two storey, two window stucco front with two doors and first floor with glazing bars. Hipped slate roof.

Site visit 7th May 1981. Right part under gable end is Hargreaves Newsagents on ground floor. Shop now extends into right hand half of ground floor of left part. Internal inspection of left part shows plaster cornice and central rose still in situ on ground floor (left hand room). Also timber panelling on two walls of back room on first floor. Site visit on 15th October 1981. Panelling and plasterwork removed during building works. They may be replaced. The front wall of the building is timber framed on a stone plinth.
