Summary

Chapel at Tiverton Castle, may have occupied the upper part of the Castle Keep, however mid-19th century Ordnance Survey map shows it between the keep and the tower.

Chapel at Tiverton Castle. The position of the chapel as described by Dunsford coincides with the Castle Keep. The remains here are in very poor condition. To the east of the south range of buildings are relatively recent buildings beside the south-east angle tower. In the wall of the upper storey are two decorated windows with lancet window between. Inside is the remains of a piscina. The private chapel is commonly believed to have been the upper chamber of the south-west turret.
