Castle Keep, or tower, in the south-west angle. There is some confusion over the original use of this part of the castle. Dunsford in 1790 said that a square tower used as a chapel stood at southwest of the building.

Remains of a ruined square keep. A first-floor tower-like structure with windows of circa 1300. Some details similar to Okehampton Castle.

Department of Environment, 1994, Tiverton Castle (Correspondence). SDV345508.

Modified extent of the Scheduled Monument. Only the uninhabited parts of the building are covered.
