The remains of an early 20th century pan kiln, tramway and stack still surviving at the time of a 1979 survey have probably been demolished, as the grounds of Crownhill Down Cottage have been modernised as part of a large private garden. The house appears to be of relatively modern date, but could incorporate the fabric of an earlier building shown on the late 19th century Ordnance Survey map. Other details: Figure 2, site 10.
