Skinner, A. J. P., 1908 - 1909, Salt Officers of Seaton, 87 (Article in Serial). SDV348468.

In the churchyard opposite the tower door is a gravestone with this portion of the inscription still legible: 'Jane, wife of William Hatson and daughter of John Cole Salt Officer. Amy wife of William Hatson. 1745'.
