During excavation of the dark age cemetery a dark occupation layer was revealed, underlying the graves. Pottery included iron age coarse wares typical of lundy. Iron age occupation beneath cemetery. Hut circle, hearth and drain may be of iron age date (see ss14sw/16/07) (nt).
