The Rolle Canal Company had its offices at Taddiport: a double basin was built at the side of the canal where the present milk factory stands. The basin was used for the loading and unloading of barges. Construction of the basins involved the demolition of the old Manor Mills which were replaced by new Town Mills (SS51NW/21).
