Full description

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

Small building marked on 1880s-1890s 25 inch Ordnance Survey map, in south-west corner of irregular shaped field. A trackway leads north from what is now called Humber Lane to the field.

Linhay on route of Kingsteignton By-pass. Single storey, three-sided building, open at the front. 5 metres by 3.5 metres in size. Walls 1.7 metres high at the front, higher at back and 0.4 metres thick. Corrugated iron roof. Now very dilapidated. A granite pillar is incorporated in the front end of one of the side walls, another stand at the centre of the open front with no structural function. An old rectangular cattle trough stands outside. The linhay is marked on the Tithe Map. Other details: Figure 1.
