A flint object of unknown date and origin was recovered in 1977 from a construction trench about 50 metres south of Margaret Street, in an area which was reclaimed from the sea and appeated to be lying in a post medieval deposit. It is possibly of Palaeolithic date but alternatively it is of post medieval date, perhaps used for cobbling or in a wall faced with flint.
