NMR CITING PROBERT, Untitled Source (Report - Survey). SDV132371.

Vis=27/9/1989 (rchme) a wide track flanked by dense vegetation and disused military buildings runs parallel to the w edge of hayes wood. Carter's mound cannot be identified on the ground. Site previously attributed to osa sy08se14 (nmr citing probert).

Cup-shaped pit under a small mound lined with pebbles on western edge of hayes wood. Centrally placed lump of manganese ore, a flint flake and a pellet of charcoal (carter).

In the early 20th century a mound was identified and excavated on the western edge of Hayes Wood. By 1989 a wide track flanked by dense vegetation and disused military buildings lay on the western edge of the wood, and the mound could not be identified. No mounds were located in the area during the field survey.
