Summary
One of six cairns excavated between 1976-1979. Cairn given number 70. Cairn of 4.6m diameter well defined by a kerb of stones. There was a low mound of turf and stones. Some stone had been robbed. A pit covered by a capstone was entirely filled with charcoal which yielded a radiocarbon date of 1480 +- 80 bc (radiocarbon years). There was also another pit yet no charcoal was found in its fill.(wainwright et al).

Full description
WAINWRIGHT ET AL, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV174582.
One of six cairns excavated between 1976-1979. Cairn given number 70. Cairn of 4.6m diameter well defined by a kerb of stones. There was a low mound of turf and stones. Some stone had been robbed.
