Gerrard, S., 1990-2002, Monument Protection Programme. Archaeological Item Dataset., MPP 133413 (Report - Survey). SDV277946.

(12/03/1993) When originally surveyed by Worth, the blocking stone was recumbent, however, as a result of the interest generated by his survey, the stone was re-erected in July 1893, following a small scale excavation by Baring-Gould and others to locate the original socket hole.

Butler, J., 1994, Dartmoor Atlas of Antiquities: Volume Three - The South-West, 135-41, Map 49, Figure 49.19 (Monograph). SDV137656.

Longstone at the west end of Drizzlecombe stone row '1' stands 3.0 metres high with the broad face in line with the stone row. Its original orientation was revealed by excavation of the socket hole. There is no record of its fall but it was probably still erect when adopted in medieval times as the north-west boundary point for the bank and ditch of a later enclosure to the south.
