Summary
The quarry is marked on tithe map. It is part of Westleigh quarry on historic map (1906). Date of origin of quarry is unknown, but evidently in use in mid-19th century, and again during 20th century. A number of limekilns are associated with the quarry. Fieldwork confirms survival of some quarry buildings and a conveyor, although some buildings, of presumed 20th-century date, shown on working drawing provided by ecc have recently been demolished.

Full description
Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV22836.
Marked on tithe map (tithe map). Vis=7/7/1982 (griffiths) date of origin of quarry unknown, but evidently in use in mid 19c, and again during 20c. Some quarry buildings, eg the conveyor, survive in ruins. A number of limekilns are associated with the quarry (see sub sheets). Vis=part of westleigh quarry on os 6" (1906) map (os). Vis=recent fieldwork confirms survival of some quarry buildings and a conveyor, although some buildings, of presumed 20c date, shown on working drawing provided by ecc have recently been demolished (reed + turton).
