Full description
Boulton, 1849, Untitled Source, 185-6 (Article in Serial). SDV57247.
In 1849, the font was described as being in the rectory garden.

Parish church at Sampford Peverell. Circular bowl of late 12C Norman work. Rim has been pared smooth. Below rim a band 89mm wide originally had star ornament. Bowl has been badly broken. At foot of bowl is a band of two reversed chevrons enclosing a round pellet alternate with a single star. Of coarse freestone. Shaft and base modern. Shaft encircled by a cable twist 76mm wide. Base slopes, finished by an indeterminate moulding. Stands on an octagonal plinth. Other details: Plate 1.
