Summary
Stoneycombe housevis=-/-/1978 to -/-/1979 (gallant). On the hillside forming part of the garden of stoneycombe house, is an old stone structure probably on the site of the limekiln. Just behind it is a small quarry now completely covered with vegetation. Stoneycombe house was demolished c.1975 and hillside garden reverted to natural growth. At time of tithe map (1838) there was no kiln, no quarry and no house marked. By 1890 there was a kiln on this site.(worksheet).
