Hutchinson, P. O., 1872, Copy of Diary Entry, Sidmouth , May 1872 (Un-published). SDV341762.
The earthwork (which forms part of the parish boundary) has the appearance of great antiquity.

Visited 27/1/1982. Earthwork follows the line of the parish boundary between East Budleigh, Bicton and Lympstone parishes. Consists of an earthen bank of variable height (1-1.5 metres) with a ditch to the north.
