An early medieval estate in the manor of South Tawton, documentary references to Addiscott date from the mid-late 12th century. At the time of the Tithe Map, four farms can be seen on the map, but only three have buildings remaining.

Full description

South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments (Cartographic). SDV359954.

In the early-mid 19th century, Addiscott appears to be functioning as at least four separate farms; two on either side of the north-south dividing road (see related records).

Addiscott, sometimes Arscott, is a farm in the south-east of the parish near Firestone Cross. It was thought by the Reverend O. J. Reichel to be the lordship-house.
