Moorhayes, cullompton. An ancient manor. A very old and interesting house. One of farm buildings appears once to have been a chapel (foster). Moorhayes is a domesday estate (reichel). The farmstead was originally known as moore. The moore family first appear in the records here in the reign of henry iii (hoskins).
