Summary
An overshot waterwheel here with wooden launder was used in 1946 for generating electricity (prior to mains power being installed). It was powered by a short leat from Forder Brook. A second small waterwheel with buckets was used to pump water to Wadhurst and the village hall. Was still working in 2005. The second wheel apparently took water from a well.

Wyndhurst, Throwleigh SX 6726 8946 (waterwheel). An overshot waterwheel here with wooden launder was used in 1946 for generating electricity (prior to mains power being installed). It was powered by a short leat from Forder Brook. A second small waterwheel with buckets was used to pump water to Wadhurst and the village hall. Was still working in 2005. The second wheel apparently took water from a well.
