Two farmsteads, Little Hackworthy and Great Hackworthy are shown on the 1880s-1890s Ordnance Survey map. The present farmhouse at Great Hackworthgy is early 17th century or earlier in origin.

Full description

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance Survey 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

Great Hackworthy lies on the south side of Hackworthy Lane. The map shows a large farmhouse with a pump in a central courtyard, with ranges of farm buildings and possibly a pond to the west and orchards to the south. Little Hackworthy lies to the north-east, at the end of the lane.
