Riddlecombe. The domesday assessment of riddlecombe was one hide.(reichel). It was the other major manor in the parish apart from ashreigny itself. The name is curious as it stands on the highest ground around, the first element of the name may be derived from celtic "rhyd" for ford (hoskins).
