Full description

Reichel, O. J., 1898, The Domesday Hundreds of Devon, part 6. The Hundred of Witheridge, 402 (Article in Serial). SDV49633.

Sheepwash appears, together with Griston, in the tax roll for 1302, as Girleston. The holder at the time of Testa de Nevil is given. Reichel considers this settlement forms part of the post-domesday Hundred of Witheridge.
