A socketed axe of bronze is recorded as being found near Honiton (no location given).


Pearce, S. M., 1983, The Bronze Age Metalwork of South Western Britain, 444 (Monograph). SDV341822.

Honiton Museum has 3 sandstone spindle whorls marked 'with bronze celt, Cranmere Farm'. Not known if this is the celt. Socketed axe, square socket, double moulding on both faces. Length 125mm, blade width 31mm. This could be the axe recorded above.
