Fabric appears medieval but drastic restorations on c18, c19 and c20. E end corner turrets with niches containing probable c14 figures of st. George and archangel michael. Blocled medieval windows on n side, with evidence of doors at 1st floor level giving into parts of the house now destroyed. One square-headed ground floor door; crypt wondow c14 or c15; medieval doorway to crypt. C14 stained glass.7-bay roof which may in part be medieval. See doe list for full details (doe).

May be on the site of chapel licensed 1371. Statue of st. George is very likely c19 (cherry and pevsner).
