A possible cropmark feature of uncertain date and function is visible on aerial photographs of 1946, to the south of East Budleigh Common. The cropmark feature is fairly poorly defined and of uncertain origin, although appears to be broadly rectangular in shape and measures approximately 42m in length by 21m in width. Despite its dubious origin, the cropmark was mapped as part of this survey given its close proximity to the infantry camp located to the immediate north and west, and which may represent an associated feature. The western edge of the cropmark also closely flanks a north to south aligned earthwork bank of a former field boundary and may in part represent an associated drainage ditch. The cropmark feature was not visible on other aerial photographs or digital images made available to the survey.
