Reichel, O. J., 1901, The Devonshire Domesday. Part VI, 607 (Article in Serial). SDV115753.

Rill, alias Hill or Uppehill, was a Domesday estate. It was probably located near to the present day Ryll Grove.


Reichel, O. J., 1914-1915, Raleigh and Drake Inscriptions in St. John's in the Wilderness, 81 (Article in Serial). SDV349650.

Rill was one of four manors in Withycombe Raleigh in the 18th century. Prior to 1204 it was part of Bradham.
