Full description

Alexander, J. J., 1937, Tavistock in the 15th century, 270 (Article in Serial). SDV322349.

These may be the almshouses alluded to in the churchwardens accounts of 1448-1449.

At the time of John Wynne's survey in 1755, Maynard's Almhouses in Barley Market Street, which were built for poor weavers, had mostly tumbled down.
