Reichel, O. J., 1913, The Hundred of Stanborough or Dippeforda in the Time of 'Testa de Nevil' AD 1243, 170,185,196,204,206 (Article in Serial). SDV336180.

At South Milton the probable approximate site of the Domesday Manor of Mideltone. Mentioned in 'Testa de Nevil' in 1243, and descents between 1241 and 1428 are given.

South Milton was mentioned as 'Mideltona' in 1086, 'Middelton juxta Kingesbrigg' in 1285, & 'Milton' in 1428. South Milton is midway between South Huish & Churchstow.
