Newton house. The house was rebuilt in 1909 (pevsner). Domesday manor of neuuentona, held by bishop osbern at the time of domesday. One of the manors recovered by bishop leofric between the conquest and the domesday inquest (davidson).

The former seat of the Quickes, turned into flats after they moved to Sherwood. Dull rebuilding of 1909 after a fire. Rendered, with mullioned windows. The grounds linked to the churchyard by a bridge (renewed) made over the new turnpike road in the early 19th century.
