A farmhouse stood a small distance from the (now ruined) chapel of St. Loye's, beside the present-day Rifford Road. It is shown on a map of 1809 but was demolished in 1838. Documentary evidence exists of holders, lessees, and feoffees from as early as 1481, when it was described as the "Capital Mansion of Seynt Loyes".
