Middle Marwood was a Domesday settlement.


Reichel, O. J., 1928 - 1938, The Hundred of Braunton in Early Times, 388,398,404,429,433,434,436,457 (Article in Monograph). SDV73922.

Middle Marwood was Meroda in Domesday. It was held by Robert de Ponte Cardonis of Baldwin the Sheriff. Before the Conquest it was held by Alwy. In 1428, one of the freeholders was the Abbot of Dunkeswell. Early descents given.
