Full description

There is a field called 'Churchyard' at Membury where folk-lore states, the stones for building a chapel were removed each night, till the attempt was abandoned by the people of Furley.
Unknown, 1840, Membury (Cartographic). SDV340628.
Fieldname recorded as 'Churchyard Field' in the Membury Tithe Map Apportionment for Field Number 765. This is possibly the plague churchyard.
