Full description

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, ST20SE17 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV348342.

There is a field called 'Churchyard' at Membury where folk-lore states, the stones for building a chapel were removed each night, till the attempt was abandoned by the people of Furley.


Unknown, 1840, Membury (Cartographic). SDV340628.

Fieldname recorded as 'Churchyard Field' in the Membury Tithe Map Apportionment for Field Number 765. This is possibly the plague churchyard.

The Plague Churchyard at Furley in Membury is now a field by a lane running south from Thorn Farm.
