(Visited 30/04/1999) Centred SX 7518 7694. A range of ruined buildings and a derelict enclosure are sited just north-west of the Harrow Barrow quarry (SX 77 NE 41). The primary building sits on an artificial level terrace at the base of the north facing slope, oriented east-west. It has internal dimensions of 12 metres by 3.0 metres and is well-constructed from partly dressed granite. An associated enclosure of 0.5 hectares in area, constructed from dry-stone granite, extends to the north of the building. Additional building remains are incorporated into the western enclosure wall with an overall measurement of 16 metres by 5.0 metres. The footings of a narrow, linear structure are also visible in the central area of the enclosure.
These structures were certainly associated with the Haytor Granite Quarries which operated on Haytor Down between 1820 and 1850 (citing Newman, P., 30/04/1999, Royal Commission on the Historic Monuments in England Field Investigation).

The remains of the buildings are shown on the modern mapping.
