Full description

Reichel, O. J., 1928 - 1938, The Hundred of Black Torrington in Early Times, 230,239 (Article in Monograph). SDV2105.

Eastdown was Byestedone in Domesday. It formed part of the manor of Clauetona, and was held by Juhel of Totnes. Before the conquest it was held by aAuered or Alured. Robert Clerk held it in the 1241 Testa de Nevil.
