A well-defined sub-circular mound, circa 15m diameter, is visible as an earthwork on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. The earthwork corresponds with a small copse shown on the Parish Tithe Map of the mid-19th century. Whilst the earthwork is of largely uncertain origin, the presence of a lime kiln (MDV48406) recorded to the immediate north may suggest it represents a possible spoil heap associated with post-medieval or 19th century extractive workings. Alternatively, it could represent a possible prehistoric clearance cairn associated with a prehistoric field system (MDV14907) recorded to the north, or a possible Bronze Age barrow.
