Full description

Rose-Troup, F., 1939, The Anglo-Saxon Charter of Ottery St Mary, 209 (Article in Serial). SDV99025.

The land on which St. Anne's Chapel stood contained a cottage which survived the flood in 1752 that destroyed the chapel. It was used as a poor house and demolished in 1866.

There is no trace left of the church house here, which was once used as a poor house.

Site of cottage located within mill garden. Shown on 1839 Tithe Map. This may be 'Daniell Channon's House called St Ann's [which] was purchased by the Parish for 6 guineas from Lady Day last ' in 1749. It survived the 1752 flood and was sold in 1866 to J. P. Combe, owner of the mill. Demolished by 1899.
