Rew mill stood on the site now occupied by heazille barton where a mill wheel is still worked by the river culm, and parts of the old walls remain next to the modern buildings (shorter, further evidence, dcnq 23).

The earliest date for the mill appears to be 1813 though not definite, there was a fire at the mill in 1837 (shorter, 1947-1949).
