'Pogham Mill' is mentioned in the foundation charter of Canonsleigh Abbey in 1166 and there are documentary references to it in the 13th and 14th centuries. There are further documentary references from the 17th to 19th centuries. The mill worked into the 20th century but has now been demolished.

The Cartulary of Canonsleigh Abbey refers to the mill in 1228-1243 ('grinding at the Canon's mill at Pogeham') and also c1250-1260 and c1260-1275, when reference is made to its 'leet'. Other details: 25, 36, 40.
