Summary

A rectilinear cropmark, visible on aerial photographs taken between 1963 and 1999, is likely to have formed over the buried remains of a later prehistoric or Roman ditched enclosure with an eastern entrance. The northern side may correspond to the extant field boundary.

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, Untitled Source (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV24.

A subsquare enclosure with opening gap to the east is visible as a cropmark on cambridge air photograph. Approx 35m along the north side. Vis=23/9/1982 (os) the cropmark lies in a field of grass and stubble. The area is flat but reveals no remains. The regular shape of the cropmark and its central eastern entrance gives it similarities to the excavated 1a/rb enclosure of sx98nw14.

A rectilinear cropmark, circa 1.5 metres wide and 34 by 27 metres in extent, is visible on aerial photographs taken between 1963 and 1999. Its shape and location are consistent with an interpretation of this having formed over the buried remains of a later prehistoric or Roman ditched enclosure. A gap of circa 4 metres in the east side could indicate an entranceway. The northern side is not visible, and may correspond to the extant field boundary.
