Lew quarry is marked on the 1st Edition OS 1:2,500 map. It is disused and the quarry pit is now water-filled but the associated spoil tips and buildings are overgrown by trees. The pit is visible on aerial photographs (p1) and was digitally plotted as part of the National Mapping Programme.
