Full description

Minchinton, W., 1977, Windmills of Devon, 9, 46-47 (Monograph). SDV12997.

The site of a former windmill in Topsham. A document of 1769 refers to the windmill in the possession of the Collier family. A malthouse was probably associated with it. The deeds of Conway House listed the property as three cottages, a malt house and a windmill. It was probably a large mill which ground corn for export. A document of 1817 suggests that the mill had been demolished by then.

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1982, Untitled Source, 25 (Site Visit). SDV22702.

The site lies in a clover field and no remains are visible.
