Full description

Doe, G. M., 1928 - 1929, The Woollen Industry in and around Great Torrington, 204-205 (Article in Serial). SDV340729.

On the Commons opposite the railway station faint traces of a leat can be seen. It would have been fed by Common Lake, a stream which now passes under the railway. It may have been associated with 16th or 17th century mills.

Presumably this leat was associated with manufacture, and crossed the canal at NGR SS47921982.
