The main road between Millbrook and Tytherleigh and South Chard follows the approximate course of the Foss Way. However, although the road is straight in general it is very winding and no traces of Roman road can be traced in the bends.

The A358, to the east of the proposed development site at Millbrook, follows the approximate line of the Fosse Way. Recent excavations in the area have shown that modern roads often deviate slightly from the course of their Roman predecessors and it is possible, therefore, that the original course of the Fosse Way was closer to the site than the modern road.

In order to investigate the possible survival of road deposits during and archaeological evaluation at Cloakham Lawns, Trench 8 was located close to the Fosse Way. No remains were exposed, however.
